Budget Trends That Actually Tell You Something
Most people look at their spending history and see numbers. We help you spot the patterns that matter—the ones that show where your money's really going and what you can do about it.
Started in 2019, we've been teaching Australians to read their financial data like a story instead of a spreadsheet. It changes how you think about money.

Why Budget Analysis Matters More Than You Think
Pattern Recognition
Learn to identify spending cycles before they become problems. Most financial stress comes from surprises that weren't actually surprising.
Seasonal Shifts
Your spending changes throughout the year. We teach you to anticipate these shifts and adjust accordingly instead of reacting after the fact.
Real Priorities
Where your money goes reveals what actually matters to you. Sometimes that's uncomfortable to see—but always useful to know.
How We Approach Financial Education
We don't teach budgeting rules or tell you what percentage should go where. That's never worked for anyone long-term.
Instead, we focus on understanding what drives your spending decisions. Once you see the patterns, the solutions become pretty obvious. No guilt, no judgment—just clarity about what's happening with your money.
Our methods work because they're based on actual behavior, not ideal scenarios from textbooks.
- Analysis techniques you can use with any budget format
- Pattern identification that reveals hidden spending habits
- Seasonal adjustment strategies for Australian conditions
- Long-term tracking methods that actually stick
Programs Starting September 2025
Our next intake begins in early September with both introductory and advanced analysis courses. Sessions run for 8 weeks with flexible evening options.
We're keeping groups small—maximum 12 participants per course. This isn't a lecture series. You'll work with your own financial data and get specific feedback on what you're finding.
Early registrations open in June. If you're curious about whether this would work for you, reach out and we'll have a conversation about it.
Declan Threlfall
I spent ten years in corporate finance before realizing that most people don't need complex investment strategies. They need to understand what's already happening with their money.
Started teaching budget analysis workshops in 2019 because I kept meeting smart people who couldn't figure out where their income was going. Turns out it's a skill you can learn—just not from traditional finance courses.
Based here in Currumbin Waters, working with individuals and small businesses across Queensland who want better insight into their spending patterns.
